Chairs

Last weekend I went to Maine. There was a lot of snow. I took some pictures in there. I like this pictures, I think the chairs are very interesting.

Saturday, December 27

winter night

1/80 F3.5
exposure: 0.0
ISO 2500
I chose this picture because I like the compostion and how the flow of the picture goes from dark (the top right hand corner) to light (the lower left hand corner). I think the grainyness gives the picture texture opposed to a crisp shot.

in Grand Cayman Islands

This picture was taken in the Grand Caymans. It actually was somewhat of an accident. I was taking a picture of the sunset and he walked in. I loved the way his hat looked and the way you could see his facial features so I took it anyway. I took it at 1/2000 of a second which made him come out as a complete sillhouette.

Monday, December 22

I took this during one of the calm points of the snow storm. It was taken through a window with no flash. I like the angle and how it focused on the house and everything els on the right is blurned out, and only has a little light.

On Thursday

On Thursday there was many snow! The school started one hour late. I had a lot oh time, so I waked around the hallway. I saw the very strange a trail of cars. It was very funny. I took this no flash.

Saturday, December 20

I took this picture a few weeks ago and just never really got around to posting it. It's a rock thats been by my house since we moved here and is way too big to move. The main reason i like this picture is because it almost lacks in colors except a little bit in the foreground and in the back.

christopher

i chose to post this picture because i liked the color of the sky - and i like the two damage dots on the right side.
i like how Chris is yellow ish because of the contrast between him and the blue.
it's a polaroid- so the settings were all automatic. Flash. ( :/ )
i really enjoy polaroids.

Sunset

This picture was taken late in the afternoon, as the sun was setting. I did not use flash and the camera was on automatic settings. I think the glare towards the center of the picture is a bit distracting, but other than that I like this picture

Tuesday, December 16

* snowflakeeeee *

1/640 F3.5
-1.0 exposure
ISO80
I like this picture because of the lighting and shadows. The designs on the blinds are a little distracting but other than that I like the shadow of the dark vertical lines from the overlapping shades.

hotdogdog

I enjoy this picture because I love the way my dog actually has emotion in the picture. My brother was holding her and she started barking at horses. My dog isnt very smart, so she thought she could take them on. This picture makes me laugh, so i posted it. But i took it in b/w and at 1/50 shutter speed with no flash around two o clock.

In the gas station

I took this picture in the gas station. I was the first time to go to the gas station. This was the self service, I was very suprised. In Korea, there are employees, so we don't do by oneself. I like the hose in this picture and I like the red and blue colors.

Sun Burst

I chose this picture because I love the rays that burst from the sun. It was taken on my fish eye lens at a lake in Hudson. The settings were about F16 and 1000 Shutter.

Sunday, December 14

I took this at thanksgiving. No flash, around 2 or 3pm. I like the reflection in the glass. and how you can see the bottom of a glass, in the reflection

Steeple

This picture was taken late in the afternoon just before the sun was setting. There was no flash used. I like how the light was hitting only part of the steeple.

Saturday, December 13

radiant glow

1/160 F stop 3.5
-1.0 exposure
ISO 80
This picture was taken around 1:15 PM on a clear afternoon. I love the highlights caught in our eyes and hair and how the lighting gives us a glow..it's not too bright and not too subtle. I also like how I took it at a slant and how the treebranches and bark make a good bacground. I did not have my tripod with me, so taking this picture with one could have prevented camera shake and helped this turn out more crisp.

Christmasy #2

I just thought it would be kindof interesting, since Meghan commented on my first picture saying that it would be cool to focus in on the snow. I agree and I think that the snow is such an interesting part of the picture. This is a picture that I tried to focus in on the snow. I didnt know if I really liked the picture, so I'm glad meghan said something. This has just about the same settings as the previous picture. If you look close enough right at the focused point you can actually see an individual snowflake and its shape. :)

Christmasy!

This picture was taken when it snowed this weekend :) I took it before all the snow fell off the leaves around 11 o clock. I used super macro and center weighting to focus on the red berry. I used an apeture of 2.7 and a shutter speed of 1/250. I thought it was in the spirit of christmas coming up :)

Sunday, December 7

I'm not sure the setting on my camera, i just know I didnt us use the flash. I like this picture b/c the rays coming from the moon, and the silhouette in the lower right corner, of the tree

Saturday, December 6

through window

This picture was taken at a restaurant around 9 at night. I took it through a window and it was raining outside. I was trying to get a picture of the navy ship yard that was on the other side of the water. When I took it, the reflection from inside the restaurant also showed up. I don't remember what the settings of the camera were, but I did not use flash.

at the top of the stairs

I took no flash. Because on the right side of the table there is sun light. I think this picture is interesting. Because I took this at the top of the stairs, so angle is interesting.

Through the Looking Glass

I took this picture at my friends house around 3:00 in mid october. I don't really remember any of the settings on the camera. i like this picture because it has warm colors in the background, but a bit cooler tones in the front.

Thursday, December 4

berries fall from the sky

I took this picture around 12:30 on a cloudy day. The ISO was 400, the exposure was at -1.0, and 1/4 F-stop 3.5. I like how some of the twigs are in sharp focus and the prickles on the berry are too. I also like the simplicity of colors in this picture with just the blues whites and greys. I don't really like the twig in the middle that is completely out of focus..I think it is really distracting.

Jealous Claws

This was taken in an Asian restaurant in Ashland called Fusion. My hand is contorted funny in front of a wall that is back lit green (sometimes it's blue). I love how you can see the details in the wall and even my ring. The settings were roughly F. 8and 1/250 shutter.
