Moonset B&W

I posted this picture earlier; I decided to invert it to black and white because the black and white makes the picture look antique. I also like how it makes the details and lines of the buildings stand out more.

misc.

the first photo is a diptych of julie blowing flower petals out of her hands. i made these two photos into a diptych because i wanted to show movement. the second photo is of a light on a ceiling in my house which i purposly shot to be out of focus. the third photo is of a street lamp. i photographed it when it was very dark outside to get the effect of the light blending into the background so the viewer wouldnt know exactly what theyre looking at. the last photo is a macro photograph of a lamp shade.

misc

I put them on my bag because my bag is black, which helps standing out the colors of those flowers.

Roses are red

This is a picture i took using artificial lighting. I like the way the colors stand out against the white background.

Sunday, February 7

This was a picture I took while I was taking pictures for science fair, and then I converted it to black and white because it actually came out pretty well (I didn't end up using it for science fair, it's just my journal :P). I liked the way the midground is in focus and the foreground isn't.

looking out

these photographs were both taken outlooking a bay. it was mid day. i like the lighting and slight shadows in the close up photo.
The top picture was from my texture project and the bottom picture was from my portraits project. The second picture is make-up for the blog post i missed last week because my internet just started working tonight.

Almonda

I took this picture last sunday morning in my kitchen in front of my window. i like how the focus is in deep detail on all the deep ridges of the almonds. and the shadows that are cast through out the picture.

Flowers

This was also taken at the butterfly garden, like my last post. I like this phot because the flowers are in focus, but one flower is brightly lit, and the rest are mostly in shadow. I think the brown window/wall thing in the back is distracting but its blurry enough where it keeps the flowers as the main focus.

Miscellaneous morning shots

These two I took in the morning before the sun was all the way up. In the first one I was trying out different camera settings and I liked how the focus is on an unusual spot on my notebook. The second i saw out of the window in Mr. Raymond's room and I just had to capture it because I thought the lighting on the windows was really nice. Almost like they were on fire or something.

Moonset

I took this picture on top of a garage in my town over looking the Clock Tower. The sun was starting to set but you could still see the moon. The colors are really soft because of the setting sun. If I had turned the camera vertical it might have come out nicer.

building

This picture is extremely dark, but I like the way the sky looks and the lighting on the building.
