Garner_Icy Drinks

I took this picture for the "extraordinary objects" project. It is of corks that I put in the snow, while there was still snow. I took it at about 4 pm with helped the lighting. I like the way the snow is transparent enough to be able to see the name on the cork through the ice. I think this is one of the better pictures I have taken so far this year, because I put thought into the set up and put it together instead of it being spontaneous.

Palencia_Butterfly

I took this photograph a week ago for the extraordinary ordinary project. I took this photograph at a small park near loring arena. I how the clouds make a interesting background. I also like the color of the butterfly and how the ambient light shines through the butterfly.

Bache_Candy Cane

I took this photo on a cloudy day in my sunroom, midafternoon. I really liked the high contrast between the peppermint red and the white of the candycane. I also think the crisp focus of the wrapper draws the viewer in and creates a good interesting image.

Duchaney_Candle Holders

I took this with my Canon Powershot SX110IS on macro indoor setting of some candle holders on a window sill in my aunt's house. I really like how it is not readily apparent what the subject is or even its size. I also like how it is divided into distince thirds or dark, light, dark. I also like the crisp focus. However, I wish the bright side was not so overexposed.

Reichart_bird

I liked this picture because the colors were bright and out of all the pictures I took of this bird, this was the clearest one. Although there is a fence in between, I didn't think it was too distracting in the picture.

MacDougall_Reflection

I took this photo the other day after school. This is a reflection from a sun roof window in the school parking lot. I like how the photo looks sort of grey because the window was tinted pretty dark. I also like how dark the trees are and how they are almost like silhouettes. I also like the contrast between where the sky is, between the clouds, and where the sun is and how its overexposed.

Palencia_Orange

I took this photograph on Tuesday before vacation. The only light I used was the available light coming from the windows in the living room. I like this photograph because of all the details . It's an interesting image to look at because the orange doesn't look "perfect".  I also like how focused the orange in the front is compared to the one in the back. I like that he background doesn't take away from the orange.
