Brossi_Tree

I took this picture while I was in Rhode Island looking at colleges.  I like how the sun is behind the tree and is shining on the water, making it have different textures like smooth and bumpy. I also like how the tree is in the first third of the picture and not the middle because it makes the picture look more interesting. Also, because the green grass in the oppisite corner matches and it ties the picture together

I took this picture of my brother when we went on a hike. I was working on the nature assignment and just happened to see amazing shadows. I took the original (top one) and thought the colors were bland and lifeless. I went into windows editor and tweaked the color and contrast. I love the ways the second (edited) one came out. I think the colors are brighter and richer and the shadows are stronger and more present. I think it makes some one wonder what he is look at but also notice the strong contours in his neck.

Cha_Counter

This is the picture of counter in a hotel. I like this picture because the focusing on this picture is quite crisp. If I have to add one more fact why I like this picture, I would say the tone of it. I believe the amount of light is quite proper and well-balanced. There is one fact I don't like about this picture: I do not like the angle where I took this picture from. It would be better if I took this photo from left side of the lamp.

Duchaney_Flowers

I took this with my Canon Powershot SX110IS of a tree outside the school during class. I love the depth of the clearly focused flowers in the front against the blurred flowers in the back. I love how the flowers in the background also seem to frame the focused flowers because of the way that the branches curve around them. I also think the sun shining through between the flowers is interesting, though some might find that as well as the gap of blue sky on the top right a little distracting. This image is actually cropped slightly from the original to eliminate some distracting green leaves along the right side.

Bache_Lucy

I took these photos of Lucy when she was dressing up in my room. I put the camera on the poster effect which caused the corners to fade. I wished I had switched the effect to the portrait setting now that i uploaded them, however, I was experimenting the other settings on my camera. I like the second one better becasue she is standing behind a solid background but i think the yellowish tint throughout the whole picture causes the first one to be more aesthetically pleasing.

Dilbarian_ flower in the sand

I really like this photo.  I took it while i was in Florida on April vacation.  I love the colors in the photo from the sand, the flower, the ocean and the sky.  I also like how clear the photo is and how you can kinda see the sunlight through the flower.   I really like the shadow coming across the front but the little shell is distracting.  I really wanted to use this photo for our nature assignment but there are footprints in the sand in the background.

Fair_Sara

I took this photo inside the Colosseum. I like this photo because of the natural sunlight that highlights Sara's hair and arm. There is also a purple light that I like too. I also like how the Colosseum is dark in the background. I think this photo has a definite foreground and background which makes it interesting. (Click photo to see full photo.)

Namubiru_Flower

I took these photos with direct flourescent light. Other than some positioning differences, they're basically the same, but I used two different camera settings. The flower's on a pillow, and behind the flower is a hand mirror. I like the reflections in both, but I like the second photograph better because of the warmth the color brings to it.

Tomlinson_Turtle

I took this photo during my extraordinarily ordinary project. I really like the contrast in colors and the detail that you can see in the sand

Reichart_ Colosseum

This is a picture of the Colosseum in Rome.  I like this picture because you can get a sense of how tall it was, i didnt take the picture straight on, and you can see architectural details even after decades.  I really liked the arches, because they are such a big part of the structure and you can see them clearly. I just wish the gate was at the bottom.

Palencia_White Tree

I took this photograph at around 5 one evening. I really like how the sun is shining through the tree and how beautiful the flowers look against the blue sky. I also like how the tree covers the whole photograph. The different tree branches make this photograph interesting to look at.

MacDougall_Shadows

I took this photo yesterday on my kitchen window around 2 and it was very sunny outside. The shadow is of a cup filled with pens and pencils. I decided to make the photo black and white to show the contrast and the details in the wood. I like how the bottom of the photo is fairly out of focus while the top where the shadow is is very clear. I also like the details and cracks in the wood and how all the lines run down the photo.

Somto__Dandelion.

I took this picture outside of school. I love how blurry the dandelion is and how i can see it's shadow in the background. I like how out of focused the picture is. I also like how you can see the grass and flower in the background clearly.

Condon_PinkFlower

(Click photo to see entire photo)
I took this last week outside of the school. I love how the bright pink flower is in clear detail while the background is blurry and unfocused. I wasn't able to use this for my term project because there are human elements like the statue and road in the back. Overall, I like the details and colors in this photo.

Flavia_Duck

I took this photo at the brooke next to my house. I love this photo because usually it is really hard to get a clear photo of an animal (especially a wild animal). I like how the water is moving a bit and how it reflects trees and the duck itself. I also like how the duck looks like it is looking at the camera.

Bubello_Flower

I took this photo with my camera, without flash, and using the macro setting. I really liked the clarity of the droplets on the petals of the flower. I really liked the photo in black and white better than in color. The photo in color is a little more distracting. The flower is also very clear and I liked that it was at the center of the photo.

Lanefski_Red Berry

I took this photograph with my Nikon D3200 with natural lighting on macro setting. I took this for the Nature project. I like the colors of the red berry and I think it is interesting how the rest of the picture is a little blurry. I wish I could have moved the twig in front of the berry, but I didn't think of it until after.
