Cha_Europe trip

This is the picture I took when my family and I were on the way of Europe trip in airplane. I like how the picture is faded out from the center of it in darker and darker, a fact that gives the look of the picture more concentrated on the main object which is sightseeing through window in airplane. The biggest failure of this picture is that upper side of the window is little bit cropped out of the picture. Beside this fact, I like this picture which gives me a feeling that I'm going to travel Europe again.

MacDougall_Gummy Bears

I took these photos a couple weeks ago in my kitchen. It was at night so I only had light from the overhead lamp. I think that the shots would have looked much better with a brighter, natural light. But what I like about the top photo is how the light shines through one of the bears and casts a shadow with a red glow. I tried arranging the bears in different ways to get them to cast the most interesting shadows but with the light I had, the top photo produced the best colored shadow. I think that if the light had been brighter, the colors would have been much more vibrant.

Dilbarian_ Rocky

I took this picture of my dog in direct light from the lights above and the light from the TV.  I really like how he is looking off toward the TV.  I also like the way his body follows out behind him toward the back of the photo.  I like the reflections on his fur and the reflections of all the lights in the room off of his eyes.  I also love how clear the whole photo is.  Lastly I like how your eyes are drawn down his body and the off to the right as you follow his eyes.

Brossi_Beach

I took this photo sunday afternoon when I was at the cape. I was walking on the beach and it was pretty cloudy, but then the sun peeked out from behind a cloud and everything lit up. I took this with natural light. I like how the water is seperated by the horizontal lines of the jetti's. It makes the picture more interesting than if it was just of the plain water.

Bache_Radiator

I took this photo of our radiator in our sun room. There was alot of available light from the surrounding windows. I like the second image because of  the motion of the angles and lines in the crevices of the radiator. I also like that the two images have any shadows from the sunlight and angles I took the photos in.

McGrath_Rubik'sCube

I took this picture of the color assignment at the beginning of the year. I liked how in focus the cube was and how symmetrical the photo is. I wish there wasn't a large shadow to the right, but I didn't notice how obvious it was until I uploaded the photo to my computer. I think this photo really captured the assignment of color well.

Palencia_rock climbing

I took this photograph earlier today.  It was taken with the available light that came from the back of the rock climbing wall.  I have been thinking about the on going assignment, so a lot of the pictures I have been taking are with ambient light.  I like this picture because usually rock climbing walls are not transparent.  If I could change something I would try to get the string that is in the middle of the wall out of the way.

Flavia_Black and White

I like this photo and the position I put the camera in. The position makes it look like you are at the level of a/the cat. I also like how the eyes are staring at the camera yet her head is facing away from the camera. The one thing I wish I did was to get the ears in the photo.  I edited just for fun because I wanted to see how it would look in black and white. I think that it looks really good in black and white. The photo looks mysterious and it looks like an old photo. When I put the photo in black and white I also darkened it a little.

Reichart_basket

I took this picture with natural light from the windows and on the close-up setting.  I really like how in focus the front of the basket is, and how as it gets farther away from the lens it blurs out. It makes it look like it goes on forever.

Flavia_Old to New

I did not like this photo that I took of my cat. However, I decided to post it because I wanted to show that you can make a photo better just by editing it on your computer. Some how this photo was dark even though I took it in perfect lighting. So I went on the program iPhoto and edited it. I edited by an automatic enhancer. Then lightening it a few times. After I used this tool that boosts the photo. If you haven't noticed on the white background there are a few marks and dirt spots. I used a touching up pen that just erased them out of the photo.

Tomlinson_Stream

I took this photo the day after the blizzard. I really like how clear the picture is and the different shades of gray

Fair_Paint

This is a photo of a paint stand in the art room. I like all of the different colors. And I like how the rows of paint do not end where the photo does.I wish that this photo were in better focus.

Lanefski_MetalStructure

I took this photograph with a Nikon D3200. I took this photograph in the Art room. I don't completely know what this structure is, but I really liked the shapes and twists and turns it made. I like how all the parts of this structure are not completely in focus. I also like how there is some shadowing.

Headband_Namubiru

I took this photograph indirect fluorescent light. This is a studded flowery accessory on a headband. The background is a lavender wall. I like the highlights on the diamonds, but I wish that they were more in focus. I like the blur of the rest of the headband though.

Duchaney_Blinds

I took this photo of the blinds in my bathroom with my Canon Powershot 110ISIS on indoor macro setting. Recently, I've been taking a lot of photos using only light coming from behind the subject, like in this one where the only light in the room was coming from outside the window on the other side of the blinds. I like how, because you can't see the edge of the window or the wall, the lines of the blinds seem infinite and the subject appears to be more like a pattern than an object. I also think the angle is unique because this is not how we typically view blinds. Also, because it was taken from below, the blinds are in shadow whereas if they had been taken from any other angle, they would have appeared to be more lit, making the photo less dramatic.

Bubello_Wire

I took this photo using the macro setting and without flash. I liked this photo because of the highlights that were created on the wire by the incoming light. I also liked the depth of field in this photo. The wire at the right is very clear and in focus, but the wire going off to the left becomes increasingly out of focus. I decided to crop the photo to creat for a much less distracting photo. Although the top left hand corner is overexposed, I still overall liked this photo.

Somto_Snow

I took this photo in black and white. I took this photo from my bathroom window and i zoomed in so that it will feel like it took nearer than it is. The only distraction i can  see in this photo is  that there is a tree close to the road. I love how the black and white make the photo look kind of grayish in the background.

Condon_EmilyPortrait

This is a picture I took of Emily Generazio for the Portraits 123 project. I really love this photo of her because I think her blue coat, scarf, hair, and the background all look very nice together. I think how it is simple but still looks very good.
