favorite things.

both of these photos each represents one of my favorite things: sleeping and tea. artificial light was used for the tea photo and natural light was used for the sleeping photo.

Red Flower

I took this photo when I went apple picking. It was sometime around midday and there were hardly any cloud in the sky. What I like about this photo is that the shadow of the flower is clearly seen, as are each individual petal. I also like how parts of the petals are shaded and how some petals are folded over, giving the red flower a white touch. I think maybe I could have taken this from a different angle, or tried not to get the shadow, because while I like it, it is a bit distracting.

Lake Cochituate Pump House

I was wandering around Lake cochituate working on my adjective photos, but i thought the pump house could make for a cool photo too. I like this photo because if you look closely in the lower right hand corner, it kind of looks like there is a person down there. I was balancing on a window ledge so the photo is a little blurry, but i still think i captured the lighting pretty well.

A-Z Adjective

Ilove this photo because of the focus. It took me a couple shots before I caught the puffy seeds in the frame, and I loved how it only focused on one or two, then left the others soft and blurry.

Out the car window

I took this picture from the car while my family was driving home from a trip last weekend. I wish it wasn't such a dark picture, but we were on the highway so I didn't want to open the tinted window.

Fall in Maynard

I took this picture a few days ago; My mom and I were picking up my sister from a class and we stopped at the garage by the Mill Pond in Maynard. I saw a rainbow in the sky so that was a bonus. The leaves were really colorful toward the Clock Tower, no flash and I used the nature lighting around me.

Misc_CA

This photo was taken in California. I really like the colors in the sky and how the palm trees look. It was taken with no flash on the landscape setting.

Marian By the Number

I took this for Marian By the Numbers. I really like the angle I took it at and the lighting

Marian triples- hat trick

I like this photo because it focuses on the hat trick mentioned in the paper, and the colors of
the paper really stand out against the blue background.

Miscellaneous

These flowers are in my backyard. I thought the way they curve into the shot was cool.

miscellaneous

This is my house. It looks cool. house, sky and light. I like cloud over the roof.

misc_boston

I took this picture while going over a bridge in Boston. I thought the angle of the bridge was cool and I really liked the colors in the sky.
I really liked how the lighting and shiny floor sort of created an opposing reflection as sort of the "negative" image of the positive window shot.

MBTN

i chose these two photographs for Marian By the Number. They are both showing"postive" there are posotive number and the cross resembles a plus sign

miscellaneous photos

both of these photos were taken on the same morning and at the same location. my camera was set on black &white and the tone was slightly edited on both photos.

miscellaneous

These are just some photos that i took one day on a walk. It had been raining that day and the autumn colors really stood out to me.

Marian By the Numbers

I chose this picture because I like how the light reflects off the silver spirals, and the spirals slowly fade to black.

MBTN

My numbers/words were "six" and "few".
Since license plates usually have 6 numbers or letters, I took pictures of my mom's. I like the angle of this picture and the trees in the backround. I also like the reflection of the trees on the car. I could have made it a better picture by not getting the truck in the background. It was taken with no flash at about 5:00 pm.

Experimenting with the macro lens

Took this Wednesday evening...(it was cold!)
I borrowed my mom's Nikon D70 and the macro lens she has for it. This is a random daffodil that's in the middle of a bush that's otherwise pretty much dead, so I tried to get that in the background.
Kind of wishing right now that the flash shadow wasn't there, but that lens is really heavy, so without it everything would have been blurry.

A Sun-filled Cloudy Day

So this is a photoa I took outside the library today(Friday) of the cloudy sky. I like this one because it has the light from the sun towards the bottom, and the dark spread out around But also the dark isnt just there, its textured. I like how the clouds are all sort of pointing towards the sun, and swirling around it. I think I could have moved the sun a bit more up to the center, because it feels kind of out of place down at the bottom.

Mirror Reflection

I took this photo Saturday morning around 7:00 am, when I woke up I saw a fog on top of the water of the pond, but by the time I got there it disappeared. No flash, standard settings and if you look close enough you can see a white duck, named Aflack.

Marian by the numbers

My dad has a wine seller and i took 8 bottles. I took my first shot from a dogs eye view and it looked not so good as it look from a bird's eye view.
