these are opposing landscapes, because image one of the road going up the hill and image two is going down the road.

These pictures are wicked opposing, because even though you took pictures of roads, the consistencey of the pavements, plants, and surrounding manmade backgrounds contribute to making these pictures opposing. One thing I would suggest, is when taking picture like this, try bending down lower, because the picture that comes out will not be a straight shot, it will create more depth to the roads.
