for the first photo, i wanted to focus on the highlights on the ice, and also the strip of sunlight on the grass on the top middle of the photo.
for the second photo, i tried to make the telephone wires stand out more than the tree branches, because in reality, the branches overpower the wires, so i adjusted the settings on my camera to make the wires the focal point. the only editing done to this photo was making the tones warmer.

I like the second photo because I did actually see the wires first. You did a good job with the bit of editing to make it like that. The branches aren't at all distracting as they could be, though I do think the photo is a bit too bright to look at for too long.
i really like the warmth and contrast in the first picture. The lighting is also really interesting how it gets light and dark and various times. The second picture is also really interesting it draws you into the greater deatil and shape of the branches
