up close and personal

I really like this piture because of the bold staged background. The background truly adds to the picture and makes it look more professional (like a back drop) even though the content of the picture is not serious. The sun was coming in from a window to her right and was facing her also. I like the highlights in her eyes lips and tongue. The lighting was not harsh, it was more subtle..you can tell because her face almost looks soft-touched. Also all the colors in this picture work really well together. The purple scarf brings out the brown hair and the blue brings out the orange and yellow in her shirt. Her eyes are full of colors. This was taken around 11 AM

full moon

The moon was so full the other night. I LOVED haven's picture previously and figured this full moon was a good opportunity to try and take picures, so thank you for the inspiration :). The second picture was taken at 1/400 shutter speed and zoomed in a ton, but focused on the branches. The first was taken at 1/200 of a second. The first is focused on the moon only and you can see craters.

Deer!

I took this picture in Joey's backyard Friday around 4. It was taken at 200 ISO, 1/80 shutter speed, f 3.5. Its zoomed in but actually not that much, they weren't very afraid of me, and just stared at me.

Light in your eyes

Not sue what time i took this. No flash. I like the way the sun hits the dogs face, and the way the light reflect in her eyes. In the backround, where the light hits the chair and my moms foot is a little distracting.

This picture was taken on a disposable camera a few weekends ago, or my friend Charlie. 

It had all automatic settings, and i used flash.

It's nothing technical, but i love the blue vignette and the foreground, mid ground and background.

This was taken around noon on a cloudy day. I like the reflections of the cup in the window and how it looks like its two pictures in one. I wish I had fixed the setting to a faster shutter speed so that the cars were not blurry.

Skyblue basketball

I walked around the downtown. I saw the basketball goal spot. The sky was really clear. I love the angle and the color. The tree makes interesting.

Tunnel of trees

This picture was taken when it was snowing outside on Tuesday afternoon. I love this road becasue of the way it is like a tunnel of trees. I took it at 1/100 shutter speed and 200 ISO. I boosted the sharpness on my camera to try and get some more details in the branches. No flash. :)

Moon

I took this around 9pm. I like how the moon is covered my the tree, and how thw light from the moon hits the tree. I also like that the bottom right corner, all that is lit enough to make out the rest of the branches

portrait

I like this portrait because of the simple background and backlighting. Their highlights on their faces are not harsh and the white. The white balance was automatic and this was taken around 1 PM.

Doll

I took on 3 o'clock. This doll is Eliza's doll. I like her eyes. It's same color with her dress. I try to take that she looks outside through window.

winter flowers :)

I took these pictures the other day at f 2.7 and 1/160 shutter speed. The second one I used my super macro setting. I like the soft colors :)

CVS/pharmacy

I took this today. The sky was very clear, so I decided to take it. I found the CVS, the color was very good and the sign "stop" was same color. These color makes better picture.

The Places You'll Go

I took this picture at the train tracks in Millis a week or so ago. I like the rund down and rather dreary look of the picture. I'd like 2 play arround with it in photoshop, hopefully i'll be able to do that soon. The settings were: Aperature f 3.5, Shutter 1/50, WB shade, ISO 200.

Swan Lake

I took this picture for the senior Extraordinarily Ordinary semester project. I love the soft colors in this picture, they seem to accent the delicate swan and dark pussywillows. the settings were: Aperature: f 4.5 shutter: 1/1250, WB: shade, ISO: 500.

I'm post happy

These are two images that I took of my beautiful friends charlie (bottom) and trish (top.)

they were taken with a 200 ISO and WB shade. 

They were taken in front of the wall to wall window at the ICA.

The sun was setting, and the saturation was boosted on my camera, so it gives off a very yellow look.

This is a photo from my "beauty in the eye of the beholder." I don't know my settings. 

I really like the desaturated colors, and the sun flare over by the top window. 

I took this this picture on the last snow day that we had. ISO 400, WB shade. 

I don't know why i like it so much, because there is a lamp protruding from my feet and its nothing special to begin with. I guess i just really like the color of my toes and the way everything is dark except for my feet- and the dof.

This image was taken a little while back, but I though i would post it because i really liked it. i don't remember my settings other than the fact that my iso was 400 and my WB was on shade.

i like the broken delicacy of the moth, and the colors. 

Driving

In the first picture, I was stuck in traffic trying to take a picture of the convicts shoveling snow on Rte 9. I like how it came out because you can't really tell that it was taken from inside of a car..the perspective looks different. I like the cropped look and how it is crisp. The only distracting thing is the street signt that says "Ring Rd"

In the second picture 1/320 F 10, -1.0 exposure, ISO 80 taken on november 25th in the late morning. It has a cloudy glaze because the windshield was dirty but I like how the lines in the road lead to the horizon line and sky. I also like the symmetry. I wish that the other car was not on the road, so that it would look more staged.

Curving Winter Road

I chose this photo because I love the barren road. The sun is just starting to peek out of the clouds giving the trees and wires a sillhouette and some shadows on the road. The settings were: Shutter 1/500, Aperature F11, ISO 200 and White Balance was set to cloudy.

Love Pink

I chose this picture because I like radiant golden glow reflected off the satin purse. This was taken indoors in a mall. No flash was used. The incandescent lights were directly above.

ice sculpture

This picture was taken on New Years Eve. Every year ice sculptures are put out in the center of town for display at First Night. I really liked how the light shines through the details of this sculpture. I find the snow that is falling in the picture distracting, though.
