Color-->b&w

I chose these pictures to convert to black and white because they both had a lot of different colors in them, so they are able to show what colors look the similar shade in black and white.

What's interesting for me is that the photo of the trees in black is very different in terms of shading than the color photo. The trees in the color photo are clearly distinguished as greens and reds, so the trees stand out against each other. you don't get this effect in the black and white photo, however, because the green and reds get converted to the same shade of grey, which makes the trees blend together. there isn't a distinguished line between them. this picture is useful when it comes to trying to see what colors and shaeds would look like on a black and white scale

I deffinatly like the color photo better. The colors of the leaves stand out from one another and make the photo much more interesting. When converted to black and white all the oranges and reds look like the same shade.

The lower picture with the leys is much more visually appealing in color, but by taking away the color, things like the blury midground and in focus background is more apparent and therefore more interesting in my eyes. I like the color one best though because in the black and white one, it loses some dimension because of how the blues and pinks essentially became one color.

I like the color photograph better than the black and white. the colored photo has much more deptch and details. it is more appealing becasue you can tell the different shades of the leaves. the black and white blends together to much.
