Brossi_Beach

I took this photo a few weekends ago when I went to the cape.  It was late in the day, just before the sun was about to set.  I made sure to get the sand, grass, water and sky all in the picture because it adds depth and makes the beach look more interesting.  I think there is good use of texture in the sand and the grass, too.  I took this with natural light and no flash.

I like this photo for a number of reasons. I like setting of this photo. I like the variety of color in this photo. I like the effect of the mid-day sun over the beach because it really draws a clear view of the horizon. I like the effect of the water hitting the shore because it makes this photo have a little bit of action to your photo. I like the little bit of lens flare towards the bottom center of the photo because it gets your attention. I think the effect of the clear sky makes your photo clearer in definition to the viewer. I also like the contrast of the farthest distance in the photo because it creates a silhouette effect to the viewer. I also like the contrast between the light tan color of the sand and the brownish shade on the tall grass plants because it focuses your eyes on the color and saturations. I think the bright yellowish glow of the sun beaming on the water makes your photo stand out very interesting. Things I would critique in this photo would be: maybe you could crop the bottom of the photo a little bit because you can see only a little bit of the tall grass plants. It can be a little bit distracting. I also might change the overexposure of the sun because it slightly removes some of the detail in your photo. I think if the sun was a little bit less overexposed your photo would have a different point of view, and it would have good depth to it. Also your photo would look less flushed of color.
