Flying_Flavia

This photo was taken during the egg experiment for the chemistry class. I like this photo because of the angle of the camera and how it is a crisp action photo. Another thing I like about this photo is how there is a perfect shadow is in the background of the parachute.

Sara_ Paired Project

I took this photo for the paired project assignment.  my partner and i chose a theme of Island Life.  I like this photo because its colors.  I like how saturated and bright they are.  i also like the depth of field and focus.  I like how you can see the little details in the palms.  Lastly, i really like the flares on the photo because i think it adds some interests and appeal.  The only thing I would change is the overexposure in the top right hand corner

Parker_Misc 4/9 make-up

I am make-up posting for April 9th. The picture I took is a purple flower with white petals on the outside of it. I took a picture of a flower in my garden. I like how the flower in the picture is centered. As well how the purple flower contracts the green leaves. Also how the flower draws your eyes directly into the center of the flower.

Parker_Paired project

I took this picture at Nauset beach. I like how there's nothing obstructing my view of the water. Also how the blue water and sky contrast with the green trees. As well how the light is angled in the picture.

James-bud

This photo captures the beautiful essence of a small, small dead flower bud. This flower was blossoming most likely during the early spring time. The most interesting aspect of the photo, the amazing quality of the photo itself. The bud is perfect it can't get anymore beautiful. And the surroundings are just impeccable. I like this photo very much.

Dilbarian_Holiday

This is a picture of a pecan pie that we had on thanksgiving last year. I really like this photo in many ways. I really like the three main colors in this photo which is brown from the pecans, beige from the crust of the pie and the deep red of the table cloth. I really like these because it really represents the holiday and the seasonal colors from the leaves. The other thing i really like is the detail in the pecans. i also like how i put the pie off to the side so that you could see some of the cloth. I think i did a good job on this photo.

Alex_Action

I chose this from my action assignment because I think this photo really reflects the category of action. I like the action effect with the opponent runner pushing it in the last ten meters to the finish line. I also like the focus of the three runners because most of them are in focus except for the fast action of them sprinting in motion. I think this is a really cool photo I took for my action assignment because it makes this photo very intense to look at as David is striving to beat the Cardinal Spellman track runner to the finish line of the 100 meter dash. I like this photo also because it fits a candid action photo as well. If they were looking I think it wouldn't capture the full effect of action in this photo. I also like how the focus is on David's sneakers because it captures an action effect as well. I like the angle I took this photo because it shows a coach's point of view too. I had to rush quickly to turn my camera on in order to capture this photo in time because it was getting intense in the 100 meter sprint. In the bottom photo I added a focal zoom effect to capture the action of the three runners in competition for 1st 2nd or 3rd place. I like the close distance between David and the Cardinal Spellman runner in almost touching the finish line. I also like the focal effect because it blurs out the non-important things in the background of the track like the grandstands and the fence and part of the lane numbers. I also like the expressions of the runners because it also captures the full effect of action too. It shows their mission and determination and advancement to win the sprint. I also like the stance of the runners when they are pushing for the finish line because it captures the action of this photo. I also like the motion of the runners legs dashing at full speed because it also shows the intense athletic action in this photo. I also think this photo has another candid perspective because my friend Nick is further back running behind the runners closer in this photo, and he also is laughing too as he is advancing towards the finish line. I like the lighting of the runners because it isn't too bright and exposed to make it difficult to see them clearly. If I was going to retake this photo I wish I could change the framing just a little bit because you can some athletic sports bags on the right corner which can be distracting. I also wish the sky wasn't too overexposed because it flushes out some details of the clouds, and it removes some details of the tops of the trees behind the grandstands. I took this photo without flash, I used macro, auto focus adjustments, natural lighting, auto white balance adjustments, and used Picasa to edit the bottom photo with the focal zoom effect to make the runners in motion action more dramatic to the viewer.

Saccone_action

I used this photo for my action assignment. I really like the because it's different than something I'd usually shoot. I wish the photo was a little brighter because I feel like the lack of light takes away about from it. I thought it was a very interesting photo.

Teddy_Action

I took this photo when I was at my track meet on May 20th. I really like the action that was captured in this photo, the motion couldn't have been captured any better. Its a really great example of an action photography shot. The people running in the distance also captures a certain perspective on the action of the 800 meter race in full action. I wish it was in a little bit more focus since its a little bit blurry on the subject of the runner. The only thing I wish I could have changed was to not have the man in the yellow coat on the left and the man with the black shirt and jeans not in the photo because it makes it a bit distracting to the viewer. Other than that it was a really great photo that I took for my action photography assignment.

Bubello_PairedProject

I took this photo for my paired project, using my camera, without flash, and using the macro setting. I really liked the photo because the sign is at an angle which really makes it more unique. I also loved how the colors in the Hermes sign really popped compared to the rest of the photo. There is great contrast between the beige bricks and the bright teal sign, which I really enjoyed.

Santos_Grass

This is a picture I took on a sunny afternoon. I genuinely like this picture because of all the dimensions and basically the perspective. The fact that it was shot from the ground makes it original and interesting. I like that there are some type of layers there's the dirt, the grass and the "rest". I also like that 1/3 of the picture on the top is out of focus but it is a very different color and has some sort of "out of focus details". The image is very colorful, and it has a good amount of texture. I really think this is one of my favorites pictures i've taken this year.

Sara_ Misc

I took this photo on a sunny day while i was shooting for the action assignment.  the subjects of the photo are in direct sunlight while i was in the shade.  I like the colors and the contrast in this photo.  I also like the focus and the clarity.  Lastly, i like how it captures the players focusing on the game.  The only thing i would change about this photo is the harsh shadows due to direct sunlight.

Dilbarian_palmtree

I took this picture of two palm trees at night when i was in florida this past april vacation. I love this photo in so many ways. I love the shade of blue of the sky in the photo and how it makes the palm trees pop. I also really like how the moon is present and how the two trees are coming out of the corner of the photo. I love the different shades of green in the palms and especially the vividness in the photo. It is rare because it was at night but i luckily had a great camera and borrowed from my dad.

James.Garage

The first photo is the original photo and the second photo is the edited photo. I decided to go with black and white because when you get to the middle of the photo it cuts off the path to get outside of the garage and it also questions on how that car all the way in the back left corner got to that spot. The clarity difference from the first to the edited is also very significant.

Dowding_shoes

I took this photo the other day before I was about to go out. I like this photo because the lighting is not to harsh, it has a soft/faded look to it.

Bubello_Misc

I took the first photo using my camera, without flash, and using the macro setting. I really like this photo because I like the flare of light coming from the top left side of it. I also really like how clear clear the photo is and how the pink really pops out. The depth of field is also very nice; some of the flowers are in focus and the rest of the photo is generally out of focus. The light pink color really adds to the photo and makes it very beautiful. I also enjoyed how the light hits the flowers and the leaves. In the second photo, I also took it under the same circumstances listed above. I like that a few buds in that photo are in focus and the rest of the photo is generally out of focus. The blues and whites in the background really make the photo very unique. I like the light pink colors in this photo as well.

Parker_Watermill

I took this picture near wayside inn. The light that day was not too harsh. I like the red of the red of the mill contracts with the rest of the picture and the flow of the white water. Another thing that I like about the picture is the position of everything.

Alex_Flower

I chose this photo for this weeks post because I thought this photo was a nice still photo. In the original photo on top I like the vibrant color of violet-purple color on the flower compared to the top of the flower has a little bit of light pink to it. I like the angle of this photo because the flower is almost completely centered and the flower is almost completely straightly aligned. I also like that the flower is the only object in focus and the rest of the background isn't. I like the lighting in this photo because it isn't too harsh on the quality of the photo. It also isn't extremely bright that it could be less interesting to look at. I like the effect with the mulch is out of focus because it creates a kind of wavy pattern in this photo. I also like the green grass around the flower because it adds nice contrast to this photo. In the second photo I edited the color of the photo. I boosted the color of the grass, mulch and the saturation of the flower to make this photo have a different point of view and perspective. I also like the different color of the mulch in the edited photo because it looks more interesting and colorful to the viewer. In the bottom photo I desaturated the color of the photo to make this photo have a balance of whites, grays, and blacks to this photo. I also like the glowing shade of white in the bottom photo because it makes this photo stand out more to the viewer. I also like the way the flower looks like in black and white because it adds a good contrast to the rest of the photo. I took this photo about a week and a half ago outside of school, without flash, using auto focus adjustments, macro, and auto iso settings. In the edited photos I used Picasa to change the saturation, boost the color, created an old-fashioned film effect on Picasa, and in the bottom photo I used the holga-ish effect on Picasa to make this photo balance the whites and black color for this photo.

Teddy_2014 pin

I took this photo on the last day of the senior's classes two weeks ago. I found someone's 2014 pin on a tassel in the hallway and decided to take a photo of it. I like the different variety of colors in the photo. The golds, the yellows, blues, and the brown on the table makes the photo have an interesting feel to it. I like it how the background is blurred near the back, whereas the 2014 and part of the tassel is in focus. It makes it really interesting, especially with the gold shimmering into the camera makes it look unique. The only thing I wish I could have changed would have been to have the 2 on the 2014 be in more focus as well as the other numbers, other than that I think it was a great photo that I took.

Saccone_Misc

I'm posting this for Sunday, May 11th. I took this photo after school one day so the sun was out. I like that the bee was on the dandelion. Also there are dandelions around the main one that aren't full yet, which helps to focus on that dandelion.

santos_makeup

These are the posts that I had to makeup.
The first image is for (04/06/14) I took it of a couple flowers I had in my kitchen. I like that the colors of the flower contrast with the greyish tone in the background. I do wish that the picture was focused better because you can't see it as clearly if it were focused well. I also don't like that the sunlight is coming from the window so you can see almost through the flower and i would like it to be bolder.
The second image is for week (04/13/14) It was on my friend party and she was dancing but I zoomed into her face so you can see her facial expression while she was moving. I also like that she's not looking at the camera because it makes the picture a candid instead of a portrait.
Next is the image for (05/04/14) I took this image on a rainy afternoon at Jordan's Furniture. I thought this picture was interesting because all of the trees were the same. I took the image from my car to get in a higher angle than standing up, because or else it would've been way too low and it could have been more clouds than the actual trees. I also like that the colors on the ground and flower bushes in the background makes the image more alive.
Lastly, This is my post for this week (05/11/14) This image was taken inside so the lighting was very bad, but the white of the cupcake helped it look brighter. I like that there are almost layers of background because of the cupcakes, the image has a lot of depth. I also like the angle I took the image in because it shows all the details of one cupcake so you have an idea of what the others looks like even though they aren't focused.

Correia_Makeup

These are three photos I took that are all makeups. The top one was from my ad campaign of Polo (5/4/14) and to me is one of my favorite photos due to the lighting and the fact the shoe is focused perfectly where I want it to be. I also really like the lighting in the photo and how the sky in the top left corner and green grass gives it a summer feeling. The middle photo I took while doing my Macro Marian assignment (4/27/14). I went into the chapel and thought it would be a very good photo. I like how the keys closest to us are clear and the farther they get the blurrier they are. I also like the contrast between the black and white in this photo and how you can see the reflection of the painting on the all in the keys. The last photo is one I took while doing my Editorial Street assignment (4/13/14). I took it on an abandoned bridge in Natick. Instead of just taking the photo straight up I thought I would turn the angle to make it a little more creative. I really like the angle I chose and the light reflecting off the sign. I also like how there's graffiti on it because it gives it a more street feel.

jamesart

I took this photo by the art room downstairs at Marian. My favorite part of the photo is the blue eye and the white surrounding it. I also like the check board back drop and the shapes it makes also.

Sara_ misc

I took this photo when I was on vacation in Sanibel Island while shooting for my paired project.  I really like the composition and the symmetry displayed.  I also like how the focus is on the end o the bridge.   The only thing i wish i could change is over exposure in the background of the shot.

Burnham-misc

I took this photo of some flowers in my backyard about a week ago.  I really like how the flowers that are in the center of the photo are focused and the rest of the flowers in the photo are not completely blurred out.  I like how the bunch of flowers that are the main focus of the photo are not completely in the center but a little to the left.

Parker_misc

I took this picture at Newport, MA. It was a sunny day and the light was in a good angle for me to take. I like how the point of interest is the lighthouse and granite rocks add to it.

Dowding_misc

This is a photo from my spring has sprung assignment. I like this picture because I like the different colors of the chalk mixed together and the texture on some of the edges on the chalk.

Bubello_Misc

I took this photo with my camera, without flash, and using the macro setting. I really liked this photo because of the contrast between the green in the trees ad the bright blue sky. I also really liked the shade of blue of the sky that day, which really made the photo pop. Although the tree's flowers are not completely in bloom, I really liked the photo overall.

Dilbarian_beach

This is a picture of a beach when i was in sanibel island, florida. I love the contrast between all of the seashells and the sand and how it pops. I also like how the ocean has such  great color and how it contrasts with the sky. i like how its kind of in the middle if the wave crashing on the sea shore. The thing i like most about this picture is the seaweed across the shore. I like it because it curves around the beach which makes it very interesting to look at, i also like how its so rich in color also. The only thing i dont like about this photo is the people down further on the beach, i think its a bit distracting. I also dont like the kite in the sky.

Dilbarian_make-up post

This is a make-up post for 4/13. This is a picture of an orange kayak that i saw on my way to the beach on a rack. It thought it was kinda cool so i took a picture of it. I really like how its in such a crisp focus and the angle at which i took the photo. The only thing i would change about it is the black handle in front of the kayak. I could of just took it more up close or take it from the other side. Another thing that i really like is how the inside of the canoe is all orange but you can still make out all the little details.

Teddy_Tree Flower Blossom

I took this photo on Thursday during class. The seniors were out on the cookout by the parking lot, I went to the side of the school and saw this blossoming tree. I thought it would be a great photo to take, so I took it. I really liked that the whole background is out of focus and is blurred out and the only thing that is in focus is the flower blossom. I think with the background out of focus makes it a really interesting photo to the viewer. I thought that if I made a copy and edited it, it would make it far more interesting so I edited it on iPhoto and made it black and white. Next I blurred out the background by increasing the blur to cover more of the background out to get the blossom to be the only thing in focus. I think the black and white version makes it a far more interesting photo than the original, it makes the photo feel peaceful and the feeling of the main subject is brought to life. I don't think I would have changed anything in this photo if I were to have changed it. All around I think it was an interesting photo that I took.

Alex_ Aerial View

I took this photo about 3 weeks ago when I was flying to Florida for spring vacation. I chose this photo for this week's post because I thought this was one of the coolest aerial photos I've taken so far. In the original photo on the top I like the variety of blue in this photo, the pattern, detail, different shapes below, and the lighting in this photo. I like the different curvy water rivers below because it makes this aerial photo interesting to look at. I think if this photo wasn't taken over a waterway it wouldn't look as interesting as it is already. I like the fact its so high up and you can see everything so clear because if this photo wasn't  as good this, it would look too dull. In the other two photos I cropped the bottom left corner because you can see part of the airplane window sill. I also changed the color, changed the saturation, used cinemascope effect on Picasa 3, filled the light setting, and tinted the color a little bit. I also brightened it just slightly so you can see it a little bit more. I love the cinemascope effect to the bottom photo because it adds so much bright colors to this photo. It makes this photo look like it is taken in the 1960s or 1970s with the cinemascope effect. I think the cinemascope effect makes this photo have a brighter effect on the rocky areas around the swirly river below. It also adds an orangish color tint to the bottom photo. I took this photo with natural lighting, without flash, using white balance settings, macro, and auto focus adjustment settings.
