Somto_Sara & Karen

I took this picture in school. Everyone was just fooling around and we took pictures while Karen and Sara were dancing. This is a silhouette picture. I like this picture because of the way they are both looking at the same side.The only distractions is the trees in the windows and the walls in the picture but overall i like this picture.

 I took this picture from the Abraham Lincoln statue memorial. I went to Washington D.C. in November and I like how the sky looks so blue and how the clouds look almost painted in the background.  When I took this my camera was on the landscape setting and i was mostly concerned with getting the whole monument in without it being to blurry but the construction in the foreground shows how big it is even from far away.

Flavia_Water Droplet

I took this photo of a branch that had a frozen water droplet on it. I really like this photo because of how detailed the branch is and especially the water droplet. On the water droplet there are reflections which I also like. I like how the water droplet is not really centered and I think it makes you focus on the water droplet more.

MacDougall_Silhouette

I took this photo for the Styles project for Silhouettes. I don't really like this photo, though, because I find that a lot of things are distracting in it. I think that the angle could have been a lot more straight. Also, I think that I should have moved a bit closer to the window. But I do like the brightness from the window and how it creates the silhouette.

Bache_Icicles

I took these photos in the evening when I was taking out my trash. I had taken photos of icicles earlier when it was light out, but the light shining through the icicles and the added detail of the glass and steel covering the light created more aesthetically pleasing photos.   I like the second photo more because of the detail in the ice and the frozen appearance of the frosted glass behind it. I like how the outline of the icicles are distinct because it separates such similar colors through its surounding shadows and texture.

Cha_Card

This is the picture of cards that I took from my desk. I like this picture because I like the way the card spread neatly and I like the focusing at the middle and the focusing blurs out from the middle. The critical point in this picture is, obviously, there are so many distraction behind the object. I should take out of the books behind the card. Beside the fact, I like this picture.

I took this photo for the Let Me Tell You About Project. I like how the sun shines through the yellow leaves. I think that the yellow leaves and setting sun look nice against the cool blue sky backdrop. I used the night time setting on my camera.

I took this photograph with the macro setting on my Nikon D3200. I used natural light. I really like this photograph because of how focused and detailed it is. I think the colors go really well together, the green and brown pops against the white. I like the different shades of white in the snow from shadows. I don't like how the branch is not completely centered but I think it makes the photograph a little more interesting.

This is a photo of the bottom of a heart shaped candle. It is sitting on my dining room table which is glass. I took this photo lying down underneath the table. The lights in the room were shut off because it made the candle glow more. I think this photo is interesting because it is not the typical view of a candle.

Duchaney_Flashlight

I took this photo of a flashlight with my Canon Powershot SX110IS on indoor macro setting. I wish there was less dust. I took other photos of the same subject at different angles, all of them much brighter, but I chose this one because the dust was least prominent. Also, because it was darker, it was more mysterious in contrast to the single bright bulb, and the reflections were more fluid-looking. I like how deceptive the photo is, because, in person, the flashlight is very bright, but in the picture, only one bulb appears to be lit. Nor can you tell right away that this is a flashlight.

Dilbarian_ Sun and snow

I took these 2 pictures outside in my driveway.  I took them in direct sunlight without flash and while the sun was setting.  I like the way they are both facing towards the sun. I also like the snow in the background.  I also like how in the second one, there are the small flares.  Lastly, I like how there light is reflected off of the cement.

Bubello_Vase

I took this photo in my home without flash and using the macro setting. I really liked the clarity of the bubbles on the glass of the vase. I also liked how only one of the stems is bright green, unlike the others. I decided to enhance this photo because I thought it was much too dark. Although that caused part of the vase to be overexposed, I really liked this photo overall.

Brossi_Dog

I took this picture Saturday morning.  My sister and my dog were playing in the snow and he jumped on her and she fell over.  I like how you can see all the footprints from where they were playing and how her legs are still up from when she fell. I think this photo really captures the action of what happened. I used no flash and natural light

Garner_Nemo Shadows

The top picture is the original. I took it yesterday with my Canon Rebel on the auto setting. I liked the ways the sun created shadows on the snow. I did not think they were dark enough so I edited the photo. I made it black and white and lowered the brightness setting and raised the contrast. I love how the shadows look kind of eerie. The freshly fallen snow was a good way to use the natural light and illuminate the picture.

This is my friend Isabelle. I took this photo today after the snow stopped coming down. We decided to just go outside and take a few photos. I really love this photo of her because the bright pink sweater really pops with the snowy background and how her hair looks so pretty, like it is flowing. One thing I wish I did before I put this photo up, was crop it a bit on the left side. Other than that, I really love this photo.

Palencia_Snow

I took these Photograph a few minutes ago. The top picture is not my dad, but I thought it was a cool action shot of the snow coming out of the snow blower. In the bottom photograph my dad started to clean the driveway and it's amazing how much it snowed. On the right, one can see my dad's pickup and the snow almost reaches the top of it.  I like the look of this photograph, it's a tunnel of snow, it looks like the snow goes on and on. I also believe that the angle of this picture is cool to look at.

I took this a few weeks ago for the Styles project, although I don't think I used it. These are just a few 33's and 45's in my home. I took this in the late afternoon/night I think so I couldn't use available light; there is a lamp shade's reflection in the bottom left corner. What I do like about this photo, however, is how I used all different types of records, varrying in colors and sizes. I had originally planned to make this photo black & white but I find it more interesting with the pink label in the front, the yellow label on the side, and the rainbow label in the back. Also, I like how the words and details on the front record are a lot more clear and crisp than the ones in the back because I think it draws the eye to title.

This is the picture of bike. I like this picture of angle that I took from. It looks dynamic since i took this object from front and about 40 degree. I like the white balance of this picture since it is emphasized on each colors in the picture. However, since the each colors are emphasized, the white is also emphasized, a fact that gives a distraction behind the bike, and the dark color (shadow) is also emphasized, so it gives little dark look too. Beside this fact, I like this picture.

This picture was taken at night in the dark with and outside light on the porch.  I like how you can tell the difference between the more yellow light coming from inside, and the brighter light outside because of the snow's reflection.  I used the close-up setting on my camera but only a small section in in focus.

Namubiru_Light

I took this photo at my friend's house. It's the chandelier in her dining room. i like how some of the lightbulbs are working, and the others aren't. i also like the highlights that the chandliers gets. the background can be a little distracting, but i like it, and i think it tells more about the photograph.

Flavia_Chicken

I took this picture of my chicken. I really like the position of the chicken and how it is looking at me. The angle I took this in is a bit unusual because you are supposed to be taller than a chicken but I squatted down at the level of the chicken. At this level it kind of looks like you are a chicken next to your fellow chickens. I like the place the chicken is in its a perfect place for a chicken (next to a barn outside). The distracting part is the other chicken in the background. I actually like the door in the back opened because it naturally opened.

                   This is a photo that i took of my dog.  She was lying on my bed.  I took it without flash around mid day using natural light and fluorescent lights with in my room.  I liked this picture because of the way she is looking up to the right of the shot.  I also like the way the depth of field draws your eye into her face and then down her ear and to the right of the frame.  The one thing i think i should have done or changed is moved the pillow within the background.  I also think all of the other thinks in the back are very distracting
