Reichart_street in Italy

I took this in Italy walking down a side street one afternoon in Rome. I liked a lot of things about this picture, for example, I liked how the sun gave the building highlights so you could see details in the cement, I liked how it gave some shadows, I liked how blue the sky looked next to the orange/yellow buildings and I liked the angle it was taken at because its so simple, and yet there's a lot to look at.

Cha_Upside Down

This is the photo I took before I came back to U.S. This photo was taken in a restaurant on Han River in Seoul. As you can see buildings across the river is reflected in water in a glass upside down. I think this photo is quite unique because of reflection in the glass. It would be better if it was focused better. Some people might say the picture is somewhat dark, but I think the little darkness in this picture emphasize the unique look of this photo.

Brossi_Beach

I took this photo when I was at Cape Cod. It was sunny and the water was calm. I like how the rough, rocky, sandy texture in the foreground of the picture slowly evens out and eventually becomes a smooth ocean and sky towards the background. It goes from rough to smooth and I think that's what makes the picture interesting. I used no flash and natural lighting.

Mcgrath_wrench

I took this photo several weeks ago for my extraordinarily ordinary project. I though that two everyday objects, the wrench and grill, were made more interesting with the reflection of the sky. I wish the right side of the photo was in better focus.  I do like how the rust on wrench is visible.

Duchaney_Insect on Plant

I took this with my Canon Powershot SX110IS on macro setting of a green insect on a mini lilac bush outside my house. I love how the only part of the photo that is in clear, crisp focus is the part of the branch on which I wanted to focus with the . Both the buds in front of and behind are blurred. However I wish the background wasn't such a distinct line between the green and the brown ground. I find that this takes away from the focus on the clear buds.

Condon_Friends

I took this picture over break of my two gorgeous friends Jess and Megan. I really love this picture of them because they are both wearing floral patterns that match nice with the brick wall background. The lighting is nice because it was natural light from the bright sun.

Tomlinson_Fenway

I took these photos last week over vacation when I went to the red sox game. I really like how the first picture captures the action that goes on during the game and the second really shows how Fenway Park looks and the amount of people that were in the stands.

Garner_What A Cutie!

The top photograph is the original. I took it when I went to RI to visit Ben and Theresa, two little kids that are family friends. They loved having their pictures taken. I edited the second photograph because I wanted to turn it into a black and white photograph. I changed the contrast as well as the shadows. I love the second photograph because it looks like a black and white negative. I love the high lights on his hair as well as his cheeks. He is adorable.

Palencia_Nature

I took this photograph today at around 2pm.   I really like this photograph because of the pink colors, and the details on the flower. I also like it because there are many more of the same flower in the background without being distracting.   I also like how the veins create a small curve in the flower.

Bubello_BostonMarathon

I took this photos at heartbreak hill on Marathon Monday before the horrible explosions. Heartbreak hill is at mile 17 of the 26.2 mile race and is said to be the most difficult part of it. I took this photos with my IPhone. I like that my IPhone camera has the ability to take action shots like these. The photo on the top is one of my favorite photos taken that day. I really liked how I caught the flag in such a great position. That photo also displays great patriotism, which was perfect after such a heartbreaking day. The photo on the bottom is of the elite women. These women are very fast runners and I liked how well my phone camera caught them in motion. Also, the colors of their clothes really pops out in the photo, which I liked a lot.

Somto____Candles.

I took this pictures in my house on top of the chimney in my house. I like this picture because of how you can see the glowing of the candle light that is reflect on the wall. I think the picture knida looks better in oridnary color than in  the black and white. I love the way you can see the candles through the cups and the clarity of the light and i also love the background because it is plain and simple.

Lanefski_YellowFlower

I took this photograph with my Nikon D3200 in natural light on macro setting. I took this as part of my Nature project. I really like the detailing in the flower petals and in the center. I like how the focus is entirely on the flower, not the distracting grass beneath it. I also really like the faded brown color against the bright yellow, it really makes the color pop. I wish that I could have gotten more detailing on the center of the flower though.

MacDougall_Sneakers

I took this photo today. I had to use the camera on my iPhone because my digital camera was dead. I also took a few similar shots in film. I took the photo in natural light. I also desaturated it, even though the sneaker is actually grey and the original did not look much different from this. (I had trouble uploading the original.) But I like how the black and white shows more contrast in the laces. I also like how the left side of the photo is unfocused and the rest looks very crisp. Also, the stitching guides your eye down the length of the photo. Finally, I am very pleased with how the eyelets on the sneakers are in focus considering how I used my phone.

Dilbarian_ sunset

I really like this picture because of the clarity and the birds flying through the background.  I love the colors in this picture and how the ocean in the foreground.  I love how the birds are in mid flight passing through the frame.  Lastly i love the flares coming from the sun.

Namubiru_Flavia

I took this gorgeous photo of Flavia with the woods as the background. I like how the background is more blurred out than the main focus, Flavz. I also like the highlights in her hair, but I could of gotten the photo more in focus.

MacDougall_Flowers

I took these photos a couple of weeks ago in my living room. The light I used was the available light from the window and from an overhead light. But I do not like how the overhead light creates a lot of shadows. But I do like the colors in these photos. I like how in the top photo, the petal that was closer to the lens is out of focus while the one that was father away is more clear. Also in the bottom photo, I like how the petals that were farther from the lens are more in focus than the buds in the upper right hand corner of the photo.

Flavia_First Sign Of Spring

I took this photo at my house where there were these flowers starting to pop out of the ground. I took it when the sun was shining really bright directly at the plant. I like how it is really detailed in the front where the mulch and plant is and then blurry in the back.

Bache_Skittle

I took these photos for my Extraordinarily Ordinary project. This green skittle was taken on  a stool that I flipped upsidedown. I flipped it because there was more that I could do with the subject. I liked the second image better because of the colors, positioning and lighting. I also like this one better because I know I put more effort in it. It took some time to get the skittle to stay and capture the image in good light at a good angle. I like that both images have wide ranges of depth of field, and both have good lighting. I took them right in frount of a window.

Brossi_flowers

I took this picture outside of my house on sunday morning. it was sunny out and the shaddows off the flowers were reflecting onto the house which made the flowers stand out more. I like the contrast and lighting in this photo. i took this with no flash

Dilbarian_ fisherman

I took this picture when I was in New Hampshire.  I thought it would be cool to capture the fisherman and their boats.  I think the poles in the back are distracting but they are part of the landscape.  I also wish i could have gotten closer the the boats but they were far out into the water and i could only zoom in so far.  Over all i like the picture.

Namubiru_Oreo

I took this photo with direct sunlight in early afternoon. I used this for my extraordinarily ordinary assignment because you don't usually see mint oreos in the midst of flowers. I like the shallow depth of field at the top of the oreo, and I like the sunshine shining through from above. The background on the bottom left is a bit distracting though.

Reichart_Jar-Cup

I took this picture at night when it was dark outside and only used one set of lights, but they were not directly above the object. I used the close-up setting and and wanted there to be sharpness around the jar, but to also show how it looked through it.

Tomlinson_pineapple

I took this picture for the extraordinarily ordinary. I like how the pineapple is in in crisp focus and there is a clear distinction between the pineapple and the woods
