Bache_Floor

I took these photos in a store and the tiles of the floor were very unique. I didn't like that you could see the glare of the lights from above n the tiles but avery corner of the little boutique included this glare so I had to make do.

Bubello_ChristmasChoir

I took this photo at my church without flash. I really liked this photo because of the details of the ceiling. I liked how it added a lot to the photo. I also liked how the lights lead your eyes to the center of the church. I decided to convert the photograph to black and white because I thought that it made it much more serious. The black and white photograph captured my idea much better.

Tomlinson_Quarter

i took this photo without any flash and only used the available light that was coming from outside through the windows

RubiksCube_Tomlinson

i took this without any flash and just using the available light that was coming in through the windows

Dilbarian_ icy roads

I took this picture in my driveway about mid- afternoon while the ice was starting to melt.  The picture was taken in direct sunlight with out flash.  I like the way your eyes follow down the driveway while looking at the picture.  I also like how the first thing you see is the large piece of broken and melted ice with the reflection from the sun.  I think that the short depth of field really draws your eye in and then pushes it across to the back of the photo.  If i were to change anything about the photo, I would have moved the pole in the background or even moved farther down the driveway.

Duchaney_Berry Wreath

I took this with my Canon PowerShot SX110IS on indoor setting using only the available light from the lights in my family room and kitchen. I really like the angle at which the wreath is taken. I also like the shape of the shadows on the wall. I wish the colors had been more vibrant with brighter reds and golds.

Reichart_ Volleyball team

I took this picture after one of the varsity games in the fall.  There were overhead lights from the gym but no flash was used.  It was also at night so there was no light coming in from the windows.  I like how the blue on the jerseys are darker then the mats on the wall so you can see the players.

Brossi_Presents

I took this picture on Sunday night when I was wrapping presents for people. I took it with flash and overhead lighting was on.  I like how there are a lot of greens and reds that bring the picture together and how the bags in the front are more bright than the ones in the back, without it being too distracting. I like how the background is dark too so the presents and designs stand out more.

Tomlinson_Handprint

i took this photo with out flash and with the lights from the lightbulbs in my basement

McGrath_Fruit

I took this photo Sunday after noon in my kitchen with the fruit on the counter. The wall paper in my kitchen was distracting so I leaned a yellow place mat against the wall. I used no flash and the blinds were closed. I only used the artificial light coming from the lighting fixture on the ceiling of my kitchen. I took this photo several times and got a glare from the coming from the place mat every time  The glare was the least noticeable in this picture, but it still bothers me a little.

Fair_Stage

I took this photo of the Lincoln Sudbury High School stage during a tech rehearsal. I cropped some of the stairs on the right side, the auditorium seats and part of the ceiling. I like this better in black and white because the colors aren't distracting and the viewer can focus on the lights and darks in the photo. I didn't have my camera with me so I used my phone.

Namubiru_Leaves

I took this photo in my backyard with direct sunlight. I like the shadows made by the leaves on the other leaves, and I like the higlights too. The different shades of green in this photo give it more demension. I cropped the first photograph to get rid of part of the fence so that the background would be less distracting. I also like how you can see the veins on the leaves.

Condon_Lights

I took this picture on Friday night of the Christmas tree in my house. I like the picture a lot because it is in great focus, the colored lights are so bright, you can see the details on the tree, and the shadows of the lights.

Flavia_Chillaxing

I took this photo yesterday in the afternoon when my kitten, Lola, was just relaxing on the chair. I like this photo because of the position the cat was in. Also I like how it is clear and detailed and not blurry because usually my kittens move a lot and it makes the photo blurry. The thing I do not like about the photo is it is over exposed in the top left corner because of the bright sun shining through the window.

MacDougall_Statues

I took these photos a few weeks ago on the side of the school. I liked how the light brought out the features in the statues. I like the angle of the top photo better because you can see more of the statue, but I thought that the trees and the powerlines were very distracting. So I took the bottom photo at a lower angle to get rid of them, but I still like the top photo more because more of the statue is visible.

Dilbarian_ leaf

I really like this picture because it is simple.   I like how the depth of field is really short and how the leaf is the main focus.  I took this picture outside the school a couple weeks ago.  i like how is has a lot of light but it isn't in direct sunlight.  If i were to redo this shot, i would try to focus in more on the leaf and i would try to get the other leaves out of the background.  i would have also maybe used a brighter colored leaf.

Claxton-Piggys

these are my ginea pigs.  i took these pics in my room. the light was ok but i wish it had been earlyer so there could have been more of it.  i took them with no flash.  thay are a tad blury because i couldent get them to hold still.

Bache_Christmas Tree

I took this photo on my back deck, out of the shaded areas, yet it was still cloudy. I had my camera set to the vibrant color setting to help the greaan stand out. When I used other settings the colores seemed too soft and washed out.

Lanefski_Reflected Ballet Slippers

I took this photograph this morning while I was having a photo shoot with my friend. I took this with a Kodak Easy Share C190, with auto focus and ISO 100. I really like this picture because of the light colors, the detail and the reflection. I do not like the patch of blue in the top corner, I feel like it distracts from the picture. I also do not like how the ballet slippers are not completely focused in the mirror.

Garner_Christmas Lights

I took this picture last weekend. I went outside to look at the Christmas lights outside my house, this picture came about when I rested my camera on the stone wall. I set the ISO to 800 and set a timer. It focused on the wired and blurred out the lights to give them depth. The one thing I would change is move the wire in the front so that it would be a clear view from the front to the back.

Bubello_Candle

I took this photograph in my home without flash, using the macro setting. I really liked this photo because of the way the candle stands out. I also liked the reflection the light from the candle creates on the glass. I enjoyed the clearity of the wax and how the light bounces off of it also.

Lamp light _ Somto

I took this picture in my room. My reading lamp was bright so i took it in a dark place and it reflected a little bit in the picture which i kind of liked. And in the background you can see a little bit of my pens and book by the side.

Palencia_Watermelon

I took this photograph a week ago at a wedding I was invited to. I thought this was very creative and I loved all the types of fruit used. The wedding was at night so the only light available was from the window. I used flash. I think this photograph would have also looked very cool if I had zoomed into more of the details of the carved watermelon.

Cha_Peabody Museum

This is the picture I took from Yale Peabody Museum. The reason I took this picture in Black and White was that I wanted to put an emphasize on the dinosaur in this picture. I wanted to make this picture bygone-age looking. Actually, my purpose of Black and White does not make sense because behind the dinosaur replica, there is a buildings. So there is a little contradiction on my purpose, but I think the contradiction itself tells the story of picture: "the building behind the replica is like a museum that exhibits about ancient creatures.

Bache_Wires

I took this during school on Thurday before Theater Production. The ISO speed was 3200. My camera was set on the vibrant color setting and the white balance was set on the fluorescent lighting setting. I think if I had changed the white balance it could have eliminated the washed out parts in the white chords. I will be aware of that in the future.

Claxton-Mimi

this is mimi from my cheer team.  it was taken in detroit,in the afternoon.  no flash.  itsslightly blured becaust i cept moveing.

Condon_Pink Flower

Flavia_Tiger

I took a photo of my kitten, Tiger. I was really happy of the photo because of how still he was and how the photo did not come out blurry because of him moving. I thought that the computer screen in the corner was very distracting so I cropped it out. Something that I were to fix would be the white background. I wish the paper was not as wrinkled up.

MacDougall_Puddles

I took these photos around 8:30 this morning in my driveway. I thought that the puddles from the rain looked really cool on the pavement. In the top photo, I like how the pavement surrounding the puddle is out of focus and how the reflection is very clear because I think it brings more attention to the puddle. What I would change about that photo is how it has a spot on the upper righthand corner that is very overexposed.
I like that the bottom photo is a longer, larger puddle. But I like the reflection in the top photo better because the reflection is more mirror-like and in the bottom photo, you can see the ground through the water because of the angle I took it at. There was a slight overcast this morning and I used the natural light setting on my camera.

Duchaney_Christmas Room

I took this with my Canon PowerShot SX110IS on indoor setting using only the available light from the lights in my family room and kitchen. I moved extra furniture and clutter out of the way to try to capture a Christmas scene in my house. The parts of the room farthest away from me closest to the tree are not in as good focus as I had hoped. The artificial lighting in my house is not very good, but I also didn't want too much light because I wanted the lights on the wreath and the tree to be emphasized. I like the warm colors of the room and the fact that I didn't have to edit the picture to achieve that effect. If I could retake this photo, I would have a fire in the fireplace to add both light and Christmas spirit. I would also try to remove aby cords from the photo.

Dilbarian_ mints

i took this picture in my room with the available light.  i like the way the light reflects off the wrapper and how the red stand out against the white background.  if i were to do it again, i would try the picture with more mints and maybe try to get it a little more clear.

McGrath_Wrapper

I took this photo of a piece of trash someone left on a desk in Mr. Gilliagan's room. I used it for my my Marian by the letters project. I used natural light coming from the window to my left and no flash. I tried to use the macro setting on my camera at first, but some of the words came out very blurry. This photo was taken in the regular setting.

Brossi_Orderment

I took this photo at around dinner time on Sunday while my family was decorating the tree.  At first, when I took this picture, the lights from the tree were on and I used flash so the color didn't  come out the way I wanted it to.  I shut off the lights from the tree, but still used flash, which allowed me to capture the orderment in more focus, without the lights burring out the picutre.  I like how you can see the sparkles on the orderment and all the details on it.  The center of it is in focus and the branches act as arrows, centering the orderment in the picture.

Tomlinson_cup

i took this photo in september. it was taken inside using available light. i liked how the front of the mug was in shadow

Reichart_Football

I took this picture of my friend and his little brother running around tossing the football. It was sunny out and there's a foggy glare from the sun rays.  I liked this side because if i went on the other side you wouldn't be able to see the shadows as well and the motion.  I also like how the sun light lets you see details in the grass.

Namubiru_Bells

i took this photo with no flash, only flourescent light. This is one of my Christmas ornaments. I really like the highlights and reflections.

Garner_Playing With Light

When I took this I was playing around with the iso setting. When I took this photograph the iso was set on 800. My camera was set on the program setting. It was taken on an overcast day. I used the water as a way for the light coming from the sparkler to bounce off and reflect in a different direction. My eye is drawn in to the center then drawn back out in the lower left corner. The one thing I would have changed is try to focus the center more. It seems over exposed.

Bubello_House

I took this photo in my house without flash and using the macro setting. I liked this photo because of the depth of field. You can clearly see the first tree, but most of the picture is faded. I also liked this photo because of the way the light hits the side of the house and reflects off of the sparkles. I chose to enhance the photo to make the details easier to see.

Somto _ car

I took this photo at a wedding of my dad's friend and loved the cars there, especially this one because it was the first time i have ever seen a car this long. The background was suitable and simple. The place was a large place and open so i took it at this angle which kind of bending but a little bit straight.

Lanefski_Tomato

I took this with a Canon Rebel xS in natural light with ISO 100. I really like the detail in the tomato, the stalk that is holding it up, and the leaves. I think the colors complement each other and that the red really stands out.  I really don't like the distracting background!
